Job description Trimble is a leader in Global Positioning System (GPS) technology providing services and solutions that allow its customers to achieve greater productivity, convenience and safety and, in many cases, do things they couldn’t do before. Trimble formed its Agricultural Division in 1995, when company leadership saw the need for advanced GPS technology to help food and fiber producers improve productivity through highly accurate machine guidance and control. Many agricultural industry “firsts” by Trimble include the AgGPS EZ-Guide® Plus lightbar guidance system, the AgGPS EZ-Steer™ assisted steering system and the AgGPS Autopilot™ automated steering system.
Job Summary The Regional Sales Manager, Southern EMEA is accountable for the development and execution of all sales plans and the achievement of all sales goals in the region. This individual is responsible for providing leadership, direction, hands-on coaching and specific guidance to employees. Ensuring that each financial center has a strong focus on business development, lead follow-up, cross selling, outside sales calling and customer service are critical for success.
Responsibilities: Key areas and duties of position. Regional sales management consisting of: maximization of ag sales in region, management of distribution channel, working with key OEM's, agribusiness accounts and growers, sales training, product training, tradeshow representation, business development, and product demonstrations.
Development, recommendation and execution of effective and efficient sales plans. Assistance as required with customer support, product management, and marketing for the ag product line.
Characteristics / Skills Position requires heavy travel (70%), self motivation, ag market knowledge, precison ag and water management product knowledge, ability to communicate with and make presentations to resellers, agribusinesses and growers. Ability to develop and maintain relationships. Technical aptitude. This individual should possess good people skills and strong interpersonal and cross-functional skills since ag sales will often require coordinating with people working in other disciplines over which there is no direct authority. Knowledge of the EMEA precision agriculture, guidance, and water management applications as well as an understanding of GPS and GIS procedures, both in the field and in the office. Ability to rapidly master a solid working knowledge of product function and application. Understanding of competitive product offerings, marketing strategies, and distribution channel issues.
Education / Experience BS degree in agribusiness, agronomy, equipment mechanization, or ag engineering, plus 5 years of experience in precision ag, guiance, water management and ag equipment sales or equivalent experience.
Local Requirements Speak English, Spanish, Portuguses (a plus), French (a plus) Resides within one hour of major airport in Spain.
